Description:
My first contact with Brazil was Salvador de Bahia. From the beginning of my stay, the capital of the State of Bahia generated two emotional shocks. Walking through its historic center quickly led me to immerse myself in music. From a house, a café, a car or even on the street, an orchestra poured out notes of Samba that permeate the city atmosphere. I had the impression that music is the main lung that allows the Bahian people to breathe and even to live. The evening, where you can see young people dancing, brings an additional touch of conviviality.
The next day, at dusk, I went to see the Atlantic ocean. The flaming colors of the sky that gradually faded, added to the tranquility of the place where I was, encouraged meditative reflection. Arriving by car after a short journey from the historic center, we go from a cheerful atmosphere to the "silence" of lapping waves, another music.
It is this contrast that I have set to music. The score is a personal musical representation of a particularly striking travel memory.
Details: 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, bass trombone, timpani, percussion, strings
