About the edition:

The Symphony in C major op. 6 forms a group with the Symphonies op. 4 in C major and op. 5 in F major. These three works were probably composed in 1795, at a time when André was still studying composition with Georg Johann Vollweiler. The dedication is addressed to his teacher and friend Ferdinand Fränzl, with whom André had received violin lessons in the preceding years.

The score contains a detailed afterword by the editor (Johann Anton André - a multi-talent at the turn of the 19th century) as well as a comprehensive edition report.
