Orchestral material according to the new Brahms complete edition of the G. Henle Verlag.
4 milestones of the repertoire authentically edited
Since recently, the four Brahms symphonies are available in their entirety in the new complete edition published by the G. Henle Verlag. The conversion of these milestones of the symphonic repertoire into new Urtext performance materials was carried out by Breitkopf in each case at short intervals. Thus, the cooperation project 'Brahms Symphonies' has already come to a successful conclusion with the publication of the score and orchestral parts of the 4th Symphony
The many years of intensive source research brought new insights into performance and interpretation, especially in the case of the 4th Symphony. In addition, it was necessary to question the usually extremely reliable 'old' Brahms Urtext of the complete edition of 1926/27. The result is an authentic musical text that is free of transmission errors and unauthorized additions.
