Homer beschrieb die im Untertitel der Sinfonie genannte 'Chimäre' als ein mythologisches Wesen mit drei Köpfen: einem Löwen-, einem Steinbock- und einem Drachenkopf. Nicht zuletzt deshalb verwendet Auerbach in ihrer 1. Sinfonie eine besonders expressive und dichte musikalische Sprache. --------------------------------------------------------- Lera Auerbach's relationship to literature pervades all genres of her compositional oeuvre. Such a relationship can also found in her 1st Symphony. Homer described the 'chimera' named in the subtitle of the Symphony as a mythological being with three heads: a lion's, a goat's and a dragon's head. Especially for this reason, Auerbach uses a particularly expressive and dense musical language in her 1st Symphony.
