Description:
The piano composition "Silent Contemplation on an Autumn Evening" was written in 1863 and proves to be a moving meditation of enchanting beauty, especially in its simplicity: silence turned into music.
The March in D minor for orchestra was written as a practice piece in 1861 and 1863, during which Bruckner studied form, instrumentation and composition with the Linz theatre conductor Otto Kitzler. As a postlude, it is able to enrich the organ repertoire with a "real Bruckner".
The three orchestral pieces were also written at the end of 1862 during Bruckner's studies with Otto Kitzler in Linz. The organ arrangement is carried out in the hope of making these rarely heard gems known to a wider audience. (Otto Depenheuer)
