Description:
William Boyce is one of the most important composers of the English late Baroque period. The London artist, who was awarded the title of "Master of the King's Music", left behind an extensive catalog of sacred and secular music. The highlights of his instrumental oeuvre include overtures and symphonies. They mainly contain short movements that are ideal for organ arrangements. Martin Setchell has selected the most beautiful pieces from this collection and transcribed them for the organ with a keen sense of organistic practice and in a technically simple manner. They are ideally suited for use in church services: as preludes and postludes as well as for meditative moments in the liturgy.
