Description:
The formation known as the "Pillars of Creation" in the Eagle Nebula, 7000 light years away, stretches four light years into space. Protostars made of molecular hydrogen and dust form at its tips. Hydrogen is the most common element in the universe and in its most common isotope it is also the simplest element: one proton and one electron. Nothing more. And hydrogen is not only fundamental to the formation of stars, it is also an essential building block in all living organisms, including us humans. The electromagnetic waves of hydrogen atoms can be assigned to colors in the visible range, but since colors and tones are equally vibrations, audible tones can also be determined from the frequencies of the colored spectral lines of hydrogen by octaving: g sharp - c sharp - d sharp - e and f. So hydrogen sounds! This "hydrogen sound" is the starting point of my composition. Only gradually will other tones be added, but the "hydrogen chord" always shines brightly. (Dorothea Hofmann)
