After the album with little piano pieces for his daughter Marie, Schumann decided to compile a "children's album" in 1848.
The collection of 43 pieces has since developed into a unique success story. Bärenreiter presents Schumann's "Album for Young People" in a completely up-to-date Urtext edition.
In addition to the famous "House and Life Rules" (in German, English and in Liszt's French translation), the appendix offers further pieces from the compositional environment of the album that were unpublished during Schumann's lifetime.
For the first time, Clara Schumann's original pedal markings are included. Her fingerings served Ragna Schirmer as an essential starting point for her own considerations on fingering.
