Description:
The edition of the Mozart siblings’ music books—previously available only in the Mozart Schuber (BA 5749) and now out of print—is now available individually for the first time! It is based on the musical text of the Neue Mozart-Ausgabe. It is the only edition to bring together all the pieces, sketches, and fragments from the music books. The foreword by the renowned Mozart scholar Wolfgang Plath offers valuable insights into the individual pieces as well as the question of their authorship (including early pieces by the young Mozart—some of which served as the basis for later compositions—as well as works by Leopold Mozart and other composers). Facsimile reproductions of the autographs provide a vivid picture of this collection of easy- to moderately difficult piano pieces, which is ideally suited for teaching.
