Description:
The inspiration for the work was "Voskos", a folk song from Cyprus whose lyrics reflect on life and death. The plane trees and myrtles are symbols of infinity: our relationship to space and eternity lies in nature. The song also shapes the music: new things emerge from its short motifs. The melody, which originally revolves around itself, breaks open and explores its previously hidden possibilities: And so the five scenes contain different aspects of life: energetic opening, poetic reflection, confusion, wild dancing and a peaceful ending that closes the circle.
