Description:
Please also see the German edition of this booklet: BA 9683.
The focus of the third volume is on duet playing in a wide variety of time signatures and keys, whereby the versatility of the selected pieces can trigger great joy in music-making and at the same time develop a feeling for the different musical styles. On this basis, the familiar fingering patterns and bow strokes are deepened and further developed; in addition, the first embellishments (trills, lead-in, bounce trills) and the triplet as a new rhythmic unit are introduced. A table on the inside back cover lists the page numbers of the duets in this booklet as well as those in the third booklet of the Cello School (BA 9693), so that music can also be played in mixed instrumentation.
The author
Published in 1976 by Egon Saßmannshaus, one of the most experienced and renowned violin teachers in Germany, "Early Beginnings on the Viola" (the standard work for young string players) quickly became the most popular and best-selling school for beginners in viola playing in German-speaking countries.
"Der Saßmannshaus" is one of the most thorough and well thought-out viola schools for beginners worldwide.
