Description:
Gravity is a basic physical force: on Earth, everything falls towards the center of the Earth, i.e. downwards, unless it is prevented from doing so by other forces. The orbits of planets, moons and comets are also determined by gravity, as is the formation of stars and galaxies. The solo work "Gravitation" seems to accept gravity in its beautiful, sonorous cantilenas, but from the outset it rebels against it in its "odd" rhythms, until finally the outbursts of dance pleasure openly protest. Gravity, however, is an unalterable force, and the cantilenas pull the viola back ever more clearly until it finally bows to reality - or does it? (Dorothea Hofmann)
