Ergänzend zur neuen Urtext-Ausgabe der Violinsonate erscheint eine kritisch-praktische Ausgabe des Werks in der Fassung für Violoncello und Klavier, die aus der Feder des mit Franck befreundeten Cellisten Jules Delsart stammt und vom Komponisten autorisiert wurde.
Bereits der Pariser Originalverleger der Sonate, Jules Hamelle, hatte nach Francks Tod 1890 weitere Bearbeitungen des Werks für Flöte beziehungsweise Viola und Klavier angekündigt. Die hier vorgelegten Arrangements halten sich streng an das Original: Während die Flötenstimme nur da Oktavierungen aufweist, wo die Violinstimme im tiefen Register spielt, orientiert sich die Viola-Bearbeitung an der Cellofassung. In allen diesen drei Ausgaben blieb die Klavierstimme unangetastet und entspricht dem ursprünglichen Notentext der Violinsonate.
