Description:
Henri Vieuxtemps began composing at the age of eight, initially in rather improvisatory manner on the violin. In the Air varié No. 3, presented here for the first time in print, which was composed in spring 1833 at the latest, Vieuxtemps already shows imaginative figurations of the violin part and a mature compositional form. In terms of difficulty, it ranks between the Air variés op. 89 by Charles Dancla and those by Charles-Auguste de Bériot, which are still popular today, and can therefore be very useful for the training of young violinists.
