Franz Schubert’s virtuosic Rondo in B minor D 895 (Op. 70) – often known as the 'Rondo brillant' – ranks among the most dazzling and demanding works in the repertoire for violin and piano. Marked by masterly drama, fiery rhythms, and deeply poignant Schubertian lyricism, this composition equally challenges and inspires both performers. The piece unfolds as a captivating dialogue between brilliant virtuosity and intimate, poetic moments. This edition by Bärenreiter is based on the authoritative Urtext of the New Schubert Edition, guaranteeing the highest standard of scholarly precision for both practice and the concert stage. Including a performance score and a separate solo part, it provides the ideal foundation for an authentic and expressive interpretation of this Romantic masterpiece.
