The Tarantella op. 22, No. 5 by the Belgian violin virtuoso and composer Henri Vieuxtemps belongs to the standard works of violin literature. It frequently appears on competition and concert programmes, and there have been several recordings of it. Thus far, however, it has hardly been noticed that Vieuxtemps also made a heavily revised version of this work for violin and orchestra, which is published here in its entirety for the first time.
