Description:
Based on the practice of the time to vary the improvisatory moments indicated by fermatas on repetition, suggestions for execution are added to the musical text in footnotes. Karl Maguerre (editor), born 1906; studied music and mathematics; lived in Darmstadt. Since 1947 professor at the Technical University of Darmstadt and director of the university's orchestra and choir. Author of numerous essays on classical music and editor of the first Urtext edition of Mozart's piano trios published by Peters. For the Urtext editions planned with the collaboration of David Oistrakh, his famous pupil Gidon Kremer could be won over to edit the violin part.
