Description:
The edition contains all of Janácek's works for violin and piano: in addition to the sonata, the "Romance" and the "Dumka", which were written while he was still a student.
Janácek probably wrote his sonata for violin and piano as early as 1914, but he revised it several times and the definitive version did not appear in print until 1922. The new edition follows the form published "within the Critical Complete Edition of the Works of Leoš Janácek" (E/1), also with regard to the "Romance", but the notation has been optimized in order to achieve better legibility.
For the "Dumka", the editor Alena Nemcová used the only autograph source, the violin part, which had been lost for a long time and was still missing at the time of publication of the complete edition volume, and the revision of the work created therein as a model. In contrast to the first edition, it contains detailed dynamic indications by the composer.
