Basierend auf dem Notentext der Bärenreiter-Klavierauszüge erscheinen drei Bände, die einige von Händels wohl bekanntesten Arien für Mezzosopran / Alt, Tenor und Bass, aber auch einige weniger bekannte Nummern von gleicher musikalischer Qualität enthalten. Die Arien in diesen drei Bänden umfassen Werke aus Händels drei-igjähriger Schaffenszeit als Opernkomponist in London und vermitteln einen Eindruck von der Vielfalt dieses umfangreichen Repertoires. Die Arien weisen unterschiedliche technische Besonderheiten auf und werden in den meisten Fällen mit den jeweils vorangestellten Rezitativen oder in einigen Fällen im Kontext einer ganzen Szene abgedruckt.
Die Arien erscheinen in der chronologischen Reihenfolge der Opern. Donald Burrows gibt im Vorwort ausführliche Erläuterungen zu Händels Sängern und zur Einordnung der Arie in den Kontext der Oper.
