In addition to a detailed preface (German/English) and critical report, two appendices are included which are directly related to the work: The resolution of the riddle canon contained in the first printing ("Erinnerung"/Rätselkanon WoO 129, text: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe) and a transcription of the "Hymne an die Tonkunst" o.op. (librettist unknown), which adorns the title page of the first edition.
