By Juventino Rosas, a musical genius who sadly passed away far too early, who worked as a street musician and dance band musician in Mexico City during his early youth and later went on concert tours with various ensembles as a violin soloist and cornetist, many of his compositions were published starting in 1888, including the waltz "Sobre las Olas." Rosas’s famous works, all of which belong to the genre of salon music, now exist in numerous arrangements, though this version for two horns and a saxophone quartet is likely the only one of its kind.
