Description:
The Concerto for Flute by Vilém Blodek (1834–1874) enjoyed increasing popularity immediately after its premiere in 1862 and is now part of the regular concert repertoire of this instrument.
This piano reduction offers an easily playable orchestral reduction by Petr Koronthály as well as the solo part in a revised version compared to the 1961 Supraphon edition, which was prepared by the flutist, historian and musicologist Lukáš M. Vytlacil on the basis of the surviving sources. In the process, the flute part was purged of later interpretative arrangements. The first movement also appears here for the first time ever in its original, unabridged version.
