My choral fantasy on "Puer natus" develops from the swaying three-note rhythm of the well-known Christmas carol, which repeatedly gives new impetus to the melodic progression through to jubilant trills such as those of shepherds' melodies, of birdsong awakened at night, of angels' songs - only to finally return to the lullaby.
