Description:
The "Waldbilder" are five scenes of different character, held together by a common basic mood: the titles of the movements can be interpreted both associatively and directly programmatically, depending on the context of the performers and the performance situation. The scoring for seven equal flutes with very clearly differentiated levels of difficulty enables as many flutes as possible to be integrated, from beginners to advanced players, as it is of course also intended to realize individual or even all movements with choral scoring. In this case, a conductor is essential for coordination. The premiere was in March 2010 with around 70 flutes on the occasion of the 10th Munich Flute Festival of the German Flute Society under the direction of Edmund Wächter. (Dorothea Hofmann)
