Description:
Mozart's clean autograph provides a secure basis for this Urtext edition, which deliberately does not level minor subtleties and deviations by Mozart at parallel and repeated passages. The horn parts include convenient turnaround passages and offer dual cadenza suggestions for the 1st movement as well as entries, also alternate, for measures 22 and 196 in the third movement. As in his cadenzas for Mozart's flute concertos (HN673, 674, 675) the well-known Mozart specialist Robert D. Levin provides multiple linkable motif and melody sections from which each hornist can compose his own cadenza. The possibilities of the natural horn are taken into account. The cadenzas are protected by copyright.
