The arias for one voice, one obbligato instrument and basso continuo from Johann Sebastian Bach's cantatas are among the highest art forms of Baroque music thanks to their magnificent melodies, their sublime expressiveness and their exquisite harmony.
Mark Denemark has now arranged many of these arias for two recorders (soprano/tenor) in these editions. Despite their three-part nature, the special structural characteristics can also be excellently realized with two instruments. Each of the soloists also takes on the third, accompanying part without interrupting the melodic and polyphonic order of the voice leading.
