Abendrot is a modern composition with lyrical and rhythmic elements in a soul-funk style. I was inspired by an evening red on a fabulous terrace with an incredible sea view of Gomera. In this piece I describe the grandiose play of colours that inspired me again and again in rhythmic intervals.
Crickets rockin' the backyard is a very powerful and groove-oriented longmeter shuffle minor blues. In the shade of a terrace, on a hot summer's day on the Mississippi Delta: In the calm of the shimmering heat, a "cricket quartet" chirps in strong unison into the foreground. This composition was born from this listening experience.
Klangbilder is a modern 1/16 shuffle with Spanish melodies. The composition describes the burgeoning life in the morning hours in Andalusia.
Temptation is a modern pop ballad on a rhythmic 1/16 basis and harmonized arpeggio by the entire quartet. The composition describes real life and shows us many ways in which we humans are tempted on a daily basis.
