Dvorák's great "Requiem" was commissioned for the renowned music festival in Birmingham. Since its premiere there under the composer's direction in 1891, it has enjoyed great popularity. It is based on the liturgical Requiem text, but was intended from the outset for a full-length concert performance. In the "Requiem", Dvorák unfolds the entire spectrum from religious devotion to drama and sorrowful lamentation in an inimitable way and with impressive depth of expression. He gave the choir a central role - it is used in 12 of the 13 parts of the Requiem. This sheer mass alone is reason enough to come to rehearsal well prepared with carus music! / The Carus Choir Coach offers choir singers the unique opportunity to individually rehearse their choir voice in the overall sound of choir and instruments. A separate mp3 CD or download with all choral parts is available for each voice part. The Carus Choir Coach is based on recordings by renowned interpreters who have performed from the carefully prepared Carus Urtext edition. The choral movements are available in three versions: 1) original recording, 2) choach: each part is played along on the piano, original recording in the background, 3) coach in slow mode: complicated parts can be practiced effectively by reducing the tempo of the coach to 70% of the original. / The musicians are: Maria Stader (Soprano), Sieglinde Wagner (Alto), Ernst Haefliger (Tenore), Kim Borg (Basso) - Czech Chorus, Prague - Czech Philharmonic Orchestra - Karel Ancerl.
