Description:
The model for this edition comes from a collection of psalms by the Venetian master Benedetto Marcello. In order to make the lively movement in 3/8 time accessible to upper voice choirs in this country, the untexted bass part was omitted, an instrumental prelude, interlude and postlude were added and the Italian text was translated into German. In a lively dialog, the two equal vocal parts proclaim their trust in the Lord, who sets the paths and strengthens the steps. A distinctive piece of exuberant Italian baroque music that can be sung by children's and women's choirs alike on a wide variety of occasions.
