The large-scale motet Die Nacht ist vorgerückt for mixed choir with 4 to 8 parts a capella composed by Johanna Senfter, appears here in print for the first time. Although the motet follows the tradition of Johannes Brahms’ choral motets in particular, it is written in a very expressive style, most closely related to the corresponding late Romantic works of Max Reger or Arnold Schoenberg.
