Für die Einstudierung großer Werke ist ein optimales Urtext-Aufführungsmaterial, das allen Anforderungen gerecht wird, besonders notwendig. So kam zum Abschluss des Mendelssohn-Jahres ein zweiter Klavierauszug zur 'Elias'-Neuausgabe heraus. Er enthält im üblichen handlichen Format nur den deutschen Gesangstext. In dieser Form hat Mendelssohn das Werk ursprünglich konzipiert, bevor er die englische Version für die Uraufführung in Birmingham erstellte. Der Notentext bietet den Klaviersatz des Komponisten, so wie er auch zur Veröffentlichung in der Gesamtausgabe vorgesehen ist. Für Aufführungen in englischer Sprache bleibt der bereits seit Anfang 2009 vorliegende deutsch-englische Klavierauszug (EB 8649) massgeblich.
