Description:
Telemann wrote the cantata "Gelobet seist du, Jesu Christ" TWV 1:612 for the cantata year 1710/1711. Despite the instrumentation without brass and timpani, the festive, glamorous mood of the second day of Christmas dominates in this composition. The opening chorale and the final chorus form the framework for the solo parts (ATB) of the main section with its four arias. Here, too, it is quite possible and customary for the choral parts to be scored for soloists. The piano reduction is accompanied by suggestions for German text variants.
