Description:
The composition by the Viennese Baroque master, which appears here in its first edition, combines southern freshness and elegance with intimate expression. The deeply felt invocation, which can also be performed by soloists, is reinforced by the choir and then finds its conclusion in a joyfully moved Alleluia. Despite the buoyant gesture inherent in this composition, the vocal or instrumental writing poses no difficulties. The motet can be heard in many ways during Advent as well as at Pentecost and throughout the year and is a worthwhile discovery for choirs of all levels.
