Description:
Two arias for soprano [F-sharp' – A''], sopranino recorder/alto recorder & basso continuo from the opera "Eraclea," first edition by Peter Thalheimer. Scarlatti’s opera "Eraclea" premiered in Naples on February 7, 1700, and is now lost. Only copies of individual movements have survived. The aria "Fatale è quest’impero" has survived as a standalone piece. Based on its range, the work could also have been intended for a D-trumpet instead of an alto recorder. Recorders Library series
