Description:
My heart hoped in God and he helped me." Thus begins the text of Michael Haydn's Graduale, which is available here in print for the first time. After more than 30 first printings of his sacred vocal music in our program, interest in his music continues unabated. This is primarily due to the enormous practical suitability of his church music works: careful selection of texts, a mostly low level of difficulty, modest instrumentation, masterful craftsmanship and an always lively and optimistic gesture emanating from both the vocal and instrumental parts. These are characteristics that also characterize the gradual presented here. Due to the universality of the text, it can be used in a variety of ways during the church year and, as the trumpets can be omitted, it is already fully scored with the "small" string section including basso continuo.
The score is copy-protected for single copies. This is only removed if the choral score in choral size or the orchestral material is purchased at the same time.
