Description:
Composed in 1680, Dieterich Buxtehude's passion cycle "Membra Jesu Nostri" is one of the most moving and poignant masterpieces of the Baroque era. Across seven expressive cantatas, the work meditates on the limbs of the crucified Christ, unfolding an incomparable spiritual depth and sonic intimacy. This high-quality single part from Edition Merseburger contains the instrumental part for Viola (Complemento / Viola III), fitting seamlessly into the rich scoring of soloists (SSATB), 5-part mixed choir, strings, and basso continuo.
