Description:
Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber was born on 12.8.1644 in Wartenberg, Bohemia and died on 3.4.1704 in Salzburg. From 1673 he was in the service of the Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg, where he remained until the end of his life, apart from court and concert tours. In 1684 he received the title of Truchsess. In 1690 he was knighted by Emperor Leopold I. His concert tours made him famous at European courts as a composer, but above all as a violin virtuoso. 100 years later, Charles Burney calls Biber the greatest violin artist of the 17th century. The double-choir "Sonata pro Tabula à 10" is an equally beautiful and rewarding composition for flutists and strings.
