Description:
Smetana composed the first four symphonic poems from the six-part cycle My Fatherland in the years 1874-1875 and, after completing the fourth part - From Bohemia's Grove and Field - he soon arranged all four for piano four-hands. All six parts were published for the first time by the Urbánek publishing house, with the four-hand arrangements (1879-1880) being the first to appear.
The score of From Bohemia's Grove and Corridor was published in 1881. Due to the large number of errors in this first edition by Urbánek, Hugh Macdonald's new edition is based on the autograph, taking into account the first edition, the autograph and the composer's printed four-hand piano version.
