Description:
The autograph score of Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto is lost. Only two authentic sources were available for every new edition published over the years: a copyist's copy of the score with Beethoven's handwritten corrections and the first edition (without score), published in Vienna in 1808 and containing several minor revisions dating after the aforementioned copy.
Although no new sources were available for the present edition, numerous editorial additions that had survived in all modern editions (including Urtext editions) have been corrected. This new Bärenreiter Urtext edition finally presents Beethoven's famous work with the clarity it deserves.
