Description:

Girolamo Frescobaldi's music strongly influenced composers such as Froberger, Buxtehude, J. S. Bach and Muffat. Bärenreiter has now added a new Urtext edition in four volumes to the tried and tested Pidoux edition. It offers the interested layman as well as the professional musician and musicologist a music text that meets practical requirements and at the same time provides comprehensive information about all currently known sources and their genesis.

Each volume of the New Frescobaldi Edition is introduced by an introduction to the history of composition, source situation, performance practice and editing technique and concluded by a critical report.

> Urtext edition in four volumes
> Up-to-date research
> Detailed preface (German/English), critical report (German/English) and list of sources in the volume
