Description:
You have to come up with this idea first: To add a fully developed piano part to the original of Bach's famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor, which significantly enhances the already powerful sound of the piece and leads to completely new, fascinating listening experiences for the audience.
The German-American organ virtuoso and Bach enthusiast Wilhelm Middelschulte put this idea into practice in an impressive way in 1929, thus enriching the sparse repertoire for organ and piano with a spectacular work. The organist plays the original version of the organ piece he knows from "his" notes (or the version Middelschulte provided with articulations) and is amazed at what the pianist has to add to it. The listeners are guaranteed to be amazed, as they are offered an exquisite concert experience. It is only surprising that this arrangement has remained unpublished to this day. But now nothing stands in the way of fascinating Bach listening pleasure.
