Description:
After the glittering premiere of Ludwig van Beethoven's Violin Concerto, Muzio Clementi approached the composer and suggested an arrangement of the work for piano and orchestra. In 1807, Beethoven accepted the request, which not only gave the present-day musician a different version of the composition, but also an authentic cadenza by the composer.
The piano version was not edited satisfactorily for a long time; now the well-known Beethoven expert Jonathan Del Mar has produced an edition that takes into account all existing sources and for this reason can also present Beethoven's articulation and dynamic instructions for the solo part and his original cadenza. Thus, for the first time, there is also clarity with regard to Beethoven's solo and tutti annotations.
An outstanding critical expert edition and a must for all pianists, orchestras and music libraries.
