Description:
Due to serious illness, Beethoven was only able to begin composing the Sonata in A flat major op. 110, the second work in his late trio of sonatas, over a year after the first. The first sketches date from the summer of 1821, the sonata was completed by the end of the year and appeared in print the following summer.
For his new edition, Jonathan Del Mar consulted all known sources and also came across previously unknown material in his research. The edition offers a carefully edited and graphically elegantly designed musical text based on the latest findings, supplemented by a detailed critical commentary and notes on practical performance issues of Beethoven's time.
