Description:
The School of Bowing Technique, Op. 2, is the second major instructional work by Otakar Ševčík (1852–1934). It focuses on the basic technical requirements for the right hand. Divided into three parts, it contains over 4,000 systematically organized bowing exercises that increase in difficulty.
The new edition of "The School of Bowing Technique" combines the original six booklets in pairs. It is based primarily on the first edition published in the early 20th century, as well as on other sources from Ševcík’s estate. This edition was prepared by Jaroslav Foltýn. Like Ševcík before him, he is a professor of violin at the Prague Conservatory.
