Sevcík's complete works cover all areas of violin technique, from the elementary level to special exercises on individual technical problems and analytical studies of the most famous violin concertos. Even more than 130 years after its creation, his method is still one of the most important teaching works for violinists.
The new edition of the four volumes of the "School of Violin Technique" op. 1 is essentially based on the first edition published at the beginning of the 20th century as well as on other sources from the estate.
Jaroslav Foltýn provides methodical commentaries. Like Sevcík, he is a violin professor at the Prague Conservatory.
