Description:
Johann (Jan) Ondratschek (also Ondrascheck, Ondratscheck, Ondrássek, OndráZek) lived from 1680 to 1743. He was a Bohemian compatriot and after his escape from Prague, where he was in the service of the Baron of Salza, he lived in Mainz. There he was accepted by Elector Lothar Franz von Schönborn into the court orchestra, of which he became director in 1724.
