Description:
Probably the most beautiful flute sonata from the pen of J. S. Bach! In addition to two sonatas with basso continuo in E minor and in E major (BWV 1034, BWV 1036) and the Solo Partita in A minor (BWV 1013), two trio sonatas with obbligato harpsichord in A major and in B minor (BWV 1032, BWV 1030) are certainly by J. S. Bach. The usual practice of arranging a transverse flute sonata for alto recorder by transposition upwards by a minor third brings an extremely satisfying result for the recorder in the sonata, originally for transverse flute in B minor. In D minor, the recorder perfectly matches the tuning of the original version, and also lies wonderfully on the alto recorder.
