Description:
Tomaso Albinoni is one of the most important representatives of Italian instrumental music of the early 18th century. His Concerto a Cinque Op. 7 No. 6 perfectly illustrates the elegance and clarity of the Venetian Baroque style. The work is characterized by its formal balance and rich contrapuntal writing. It shows an expressive alternation between solemn sections and more lyrical episodes. The harmony is both delicate and luminous, typical of Albinoni's musical language. In the arrangement by Colette Mourey, the work is given a contemporary perspective that pays attention to musical fluidity. This version emphasizes the expressive and structural dimension of the original musical discourse. At the same time, it offers a new perspective on Albinoni's concertante writing. Rethought, the concerto retains its dignity and at the same time opens itself up to a modern sensibility.
