Description:
The new edition of the "Indes galantes" within the "Opera Omnia Rameau" (OOR IV.2, 7) restores in the main part of the score the version as authorized by Rameau in 1736. This fundamental editorial decision makes it possible to present the work (after the adaptations of the first performances) in a completely coherent, authenticated version. All other versions from before and after 1736 are collected in 19 appendices.
The new edition of "Les Indes galantes" edited by Sylvie Bouissou differs considerably from the previously known modern editions as well as from all existing recordings. With its appendices, it takes into account both the desire of performance practice for the various reworkings and at the same time finally makes available to performers a version actually authorized by Rameau, presented for the first time in its entire stylistic and dramatic context.
