Description:
To celebrate the Peace Treaty of Utrecht, which ended the War of the Spanish Succession in 1713, the "Utrecht Jubilate" was composed in the same year, shortly after Handel had composed the "Te Deum". The premiere of both works took place in St. Paul's Cathedral in London. It was so successful that regular performances followed over the next few years.
This edition offers the Urtext of the Hallische Händel-Ausgabe. The work can be ideally combined with the "Utrecht Te Deum", which is available in a Bärenreiter Urtext edition (BA4246).
